Things to Do

Skrea Strand

Welcome to the Venice Beach of Falkenberg, our very own Skrea Strand. This is one of the most popular spots on a hot summer day, loved by both locals and visitors. The long sandy beach is shallow, but thanks to the pier, you can easily jump straight into deeper water. Near the beach, you’ll find Glasshuset (ice cream), Globalize Foodtruck & Beach House (burgers), and Schiacciateria Firenze (paninis). Close to Falkenberg Strandbad, you'll find mini golf course Skrea Bangolf and tennis club Falkenberg Tennisklubb.

Tullbron + Doctor's Promenade

Falkenberg's most famous landmark is Tullbron, a beautiful 18th-century stone bridge that crosses the river Ätran and offers some of the best views in town. Following the river south, you’ll find Doktorspromenaden (the Doctor’s Promenade), a peaceful walking path lined with trees and small bridges. Across the river lies Vallarna, one of Falkenberg’s most beloved parks, with open green spaces, walking trails, and a mini zoo with goats, hens, birds, and pigs.

Museums of Falkenberg

Falkenberg offers a variety of museums that highlight the region’s creativity and history. Rian Design Museum, beautifully located by the river, showcases contemporary design and crafts from both Swedish and international artists. A short walk away, Falkenbergs Hembygdsmuseum gives a glimpse into local life through traditional buildings, exhibits, and stories from the area’s past. Just outside the city, Svedinos Bil & Flygmuseum features one of Europe’s largest collections of vintage cars and aircraft, making it a fascinating stop for both history and motor enthusiasts.

Falkenberg Food Scene

Falkenberg has been recognized by the White Guide as a Swedish food destination, celebrating the local restaurants that offer quality food in a relaxed setting. One of the most popular spots is Lilla Napoli, known for its true Neapolitan pizza. The owners are so dedicated to perfection that they’ll close for the day if the dough isn’t just right. The next pizza hotspot is Prostens Pizza, serving thin sourdough pizzas with creative toppings. Nearby, the sister restaurant Skrea Matbruk offers pasta dishes in a charming countryside barn. The restaurant at Ocean Hotel is located right by the beach, while in the city center you’ll find Bistro Grand at Grand Hotel, Bratt, gastro bar Rådhustorget No. 1A, and newly opened Eldsaga. For a classic Swedish fika, the best places to go are Borgmästargården and Stålboms Konditori in town, or Solhaga Stenugnsbageri just a short drive away.

Grimsholmen Nature Reserve

This hidden gem is one of our favorite places in the world. You can wander along untouched beaches, take in dramatic coastal vistas, discover ancient burial mounds, and follow walking paths that feel wild and peaceful, often in the company of sheep and cows that roam freely through the reserve. There’s nothing commercial here, so if you’re hungry, be sure to bring your own picnic, which is all part of the charm.
